If you’re beginning to look into college options, chances are you’re taking cost into account. We know the price tag on a private college education can seem intimidating, but at Å®ÉñÐßÐßÑо¿Ëù we do everything we can to make it easier for you to choose a college based on what it has to offer, instead of what it costs. For first-year students, the scholarships Å®ÉñÐßÐßÑо¿Ëù offers help us do just that.
Scholarships abound for first-year students at Å®ÉñÐßÐßÑо¿Ëù. Students who graduate high school with at least a 3.0 grade point average can expect to automatically receive scholarship funds through the Å®ÉñÐßÐßÑо¿Ëù Academic Merit Scholarship.
If you are a student entering Å®ÉñÐßÐßÑо¿Ëù to study in the Petree College of Arts & Sciences, Meinders School of Business or Kramer School of Nursing, you’ll receive the following scholarship amount upon admission:
- 3.8+ GPA: $13,000 per year
- 3.4-3.79 GPA: $10,500 per year
- 3.0-3.39 GPA: $8,000 per year
For students who maintain at least a 3.0 through college, that amount will renew in full each year – reducing tuition by as much as $52,000 over four years before any other scholarships are added.
The Å®ÉñÐßÐßÑо¿Ëù Academic Merit Scholarship is awarded on a different scale for students who plan to study in the Ann Lacy School of American Dance & Entertainment, Wanda L. Bass School of Music or the School of Theatre:
- 3.8+ GPA: $4,000 per year
- 3.4-3.79 GPA: $3,000 per year
- 3.0-3.39 GPA: $2,000 per year
Additionally, students admitted to one of the Performing Arts programs may be offered a generous talent-based scholarship during the audition process. These talent awards can be stacked with an Å®ÉñÐßÐßÑо¿Ëù Academic Merit Scholarship up to the cost of full tuition.
Other scholarships automatically awarded include the Game Design & Animation Scholarship and the Esports Management Scholarship. Students admitted to these respective programs with at least a 2.75 GPA will receive $6,000 per year (GD&A) and $5,000 per year (Esports) upon admission. Both awards are renewed annually for students who continue in the program and maintain at least a 3.0 GPA. These two scholarships are stackable with other university scholarships up to the cost of the block tuition rate.
Competitive scholarships are also available in all of the above-mentioned colleges/programs and in the Wimberly School of Religion, plus opportunities are available through the United Methodist Church and ROTC. You can learn more about Å®ÉñÐßÐßÑо¿Ëù scholarship opportunities on our website.
