Biography
Shadoe Brandt is an associate professor of Dance at Å®ÉñÐßÐßÑо¿Ëù where he teaches all levels of Tap, Choreography Production, Choreography Performance, co-directs the Student Choreography Show and serves as the Basic and Beyond Basic Tap Style Coordinator. He holds a Bachelor of Performing Arts in Dance Performance with a Tap emphasis from Å®ÉñÐßÐßÑо¿Ëù and a minor in History.
Brandt originally hails from Pittsburgh and has studied dance extensively in the areas of tap, jazz, ballet and musical theater. He continues to develop his education by attending tap festivals such as CHRP’s Rhythm World, Motor City Tap Fest, St. Louis Tap Fest, Steel City Tapfest and RIFF. Brandt is a member of Actors Equity Association and his performance credits include principal roles in the Equity National Tours of Annie Get Your Gun, Suessical, The King and I, Dr. Dolittle, On Golden Pond and a performance at Madison Square Garden in A Christmas Carol. He has also had the pleasure of doing various voiceover and TV work.
He has performed under tap masters such as Bril Barret, Avi Miller & Ofer Ben, Cathie Nicholas and the late Professor Robert L. Reed, and has choreographed for the American Spirit Dance Company, competitive studios, Butler MTG, OKC Tapfest, Red Dirt Tap Festival, Seton Hill University, and currently choreographs for the Star Dance Company.
