Greek Standards of Excellence

Purpose:   The Greek Standards of Excellence program provides an objective appraisal of the activities of the OKCU Greek organizations and promotes distinction within the fraternity and sorority community and the greater OKCU community.

Mission:  The Greek Standards of Excellence program promotes greatness within the OKCU Greek community, contributing to the university mission, by emphasizing academics, chapter management, leadership, community service and philanthropy, member development, diversity and inclusion, and Greek unity.

Standards of Excellence:

  • Excellence in Academic Achievement & Scholarship
  • Excellence in Chapter Management
  • Excellence in Leadership & Member Development
  • Excellence in Community Service, Volunteerism, & Philanthropy
  • Excellence in Commitment to Diversity & Inclusion

Time Frame:  The Greek Standards of Excellence program reflects activities that take place from January 1 through December 31 of the reporting year.

Points:  Organizations can receive a ‘Gold,’ ‘Silver,’ or ‘Bronze’ chapter distinction based on the total number of points the organization receives within the Greek Standards of Excellence program during a given reporting year.  Points are divided as follows:

Organizations that receive the distinction of being named a ‘Gold Chapter’ in every standard and exemplify the qualities of an outstanding Greek organization.

Organizations that receive the distinction of being named a ‘Silver Chapter’ exhibit qualities that excel above the minimum requirements for each standard and exhibit qualities of an ideal Greek organization.

Organizations that receive the distinction of being named a ‘Bronze Chapter’ sufficiently meet all Standards of Excellence and exhibit the positive characteristics of a Greek organization.
