State Grants & Scholarships

As you review your financial aid letter, please remember that if you qualify for any of the state grants or scholarships, they cannot be included in your award package until we are able to verify eligibility with the Å®ÉñÐßÐßÑо¿Ëù State Regents for Higher Education (OSRHE). If you think you qualify for the Å®ÉñÐßÐßÑо¿Ëù's Promise Scholarship, you can contact the OSRHE office by email at [email protected] or by phone at (405) 225-9152 or toll-free at (800) 858-1840. If you have verified your eligibility, please notify our financial aid office.

Please contact the Office of Financial Aid at [email protected] to notify us of your eligibility.

Å®ÉñÐßÐßÑо¿Ëù's Promise (OKPROM) is a scholarship provided by the state of Å®ÉñÐßÐßÑо¿Ëù. Students who meet the qualifications can apply in the eighth, ninth, and tenth grades (homeschool students must be ages 13, 14 or 15). To qualify, the federal adjusted gross income of the student's parents cannot exceed $60,000 with 1 or 2 dependent children OR $70,000 with 3 or 4 dependent children OR $80,000 with 5 or more dependent children. In addition, students must complete the required academic courses while in high school. After initial qualification, students must meet annual criteria to receive Å®ÉñÐßÐßÑо¿Ëù’s Promise funding, and are required to submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) each academic year to determine ongoing eligibility.

For any year that the adjusted gross income reported on the student's current FAFSA exceeds $100,000, the student will not be eligible to receive the Å®ÉñÐßÐßÑо¿Ëù's Promise benefit. Any year that the student does not receive the award because the income exceeds the $100,000 limit will count toward the five-year scholarship eligibility period. Å®ÉñÐßÐßÑо¿Ëù's Promise will no longer pay for non-credit remedial courses. There will be 129 credit hour cap, which means that Å®ÉñÐßÐßÑо¿Ëù’s Promise will only cover 129 credit hours; however, exceptions will be made for programs that exceed 129 credit hours.

OTAG is a state-funded grant awarded by the State of Å®ÉñÐßÐßÑо¿Ëù. Eligibility is determined by the results of the FAFSA and by the OTAG residency requirements. OTAG is applied directly to the student's account and does not have to be repaid. Students must complete and submit the FAFSA by March 1 to be considered for OTAG. OTAG is not available to students who have already completed their first bachelor's degree.

OTEG is a state-funded grant awarded by the State of Å®ÉñÐßÐßÑо¿Ëù to students attending private universities who meet the eligibility requirements of being an Å®ÉñÐßÐßÑо¿Ëù resident, full-time student and income threshold requirements determined by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The funding is limited and awarded on the basis of completion of the requirements.

If you have external scholarships that you are expecting to assist you in the upcoming academic year, they will not be credited to your student account until we receive the funds. If you are expecting assistance from a source outside of Å®ÉñÐßÐßÑо¿Ëù, please email your financial aid counselor so the funds can be estimated in your overall financial aid award package.

It is important to remember that additional assistance that is identified to our office after a student has received their aid package may result in a revision of their initial award package.
